What is the difference between a product manager and a project manager?

From what I know, a product manager is responsible for managing the product, and the project manager is responsible for managing the project, but doesn't that come down to the same thing, isn't managing a product the same as managing a project (since a project usually yields a product/service)? What is the difference between the two? Is it that the project manager also manages services, but the product manager does not?

A project is a temporary endeavor to create a unique product, service or a result. So a project manager is only concered about this temporary endeavor. Where in a product manager is a program manager who oversees all the projects for that product
