As a project manager, what do I gain when I study and I analyze the relationships between cost and time on my project? Are there any benefits from doing this?

There are probably many, however the one that immediately comes to mind is improved estimating. At least I have found this to be a personal benefit. You may also be able to see trends that are specific to you projects and/or industry.
