In project management, what do you mean by the term "NTE"? Which acronym does it stand for? Is this term a standard term in PM (I couldn't find it anywhere...)

NTE means "Not To Exceed".
The term NTE is used in a context where we're estimating costs. For example, we can say that the materials' cost are NTE $50,000, which means the cost of the materials used for the project is not to exceed $50,000.
