Is there any recourse with PMI after being banned for Life? Are there any similar certs available?

I am banned for life from PMI,  What recourse if any is there with this org.
Convicted murders, and cheats are let out of jail all the time. There seems to be no recourse with PMI. Is some type of probation available ??

Is this type of ban legal, if in effect the cert is required?

Any-one, Please advise ...

Well, PMI can impose any rule it wants to protect its reputation and the reputation of its credentials.

I personally think the ban for life is a bit harsh (if possible, can you tell the others here how you were banned? Were you cheating on the PMP exam?). I think there should be a better way to handle those that do not adhere to PMI's rules.

I advise you to contact PMI directly or better yet, through your local PMI chapter. I think the local chapter might have some influence within PMI which may help your cause.

In any case, you can go with PRINCE2 or you can do an MBA in project management at a decent university (which, in my opinion, is better and more prestigious than the PMP).

I had a clear crib note in my palm, with a few formulas. They must have saw it on camera, they confiscated it 5-10 minutes into the test.  I was allowed to complete the test and passed . I did not nor could not take advantage of any on the info I brought into the test.  in retro spect the stuff I had on the sheet would have been useless any way. :(  I basically passed the test on my own.   HOWEVER I was reported to PMI. PMI contacted me regarding the issue and that it was under investigation.  I responded to them with a VERY VERY sincere apology.   A few days later they sent me an email stating I was in violation by virtue of my apology, I was banned for life and they refunded my testing fee.  PMI has been unapproachable on this since, and this was 7 years ago :(.. ...
The test is NOT THAT HARD.  There was nothing in it that I had not seen in my training class.    I only have an AAS degree so a MS would set me back $100k (lol).  I guess my only recourse is PRINCE2.   My advise to everyone is to NEVER  cross PMI, doing so can haunt you more than bad credit, felony conviction, or dishonorable discharge.     I guess I could reach out to my local chapter, but there is no one at PMI corporate to communicate with. The last email i sent them they basically told me to F off.  I guess the only problem I have is that the cert is a requirement of so many PM jobs.    I hope others learn from this.
