Welcome to Project Management Questions!

You can ask any question on Project Management and you can rest assured that real Project Managers will answer your shortly!

What problems may occur if the project manager does not have a follow-up on the project when the current is nearing completion?

What will happen to the project if the project manager is not following up on it especially when it's nearing completion? Will it fail or will it be at a risk of failure?

I'm asking this question because I feel that the project manager on one of our projects thinks that he's done a good job already and is not really managing  the project anymore (maybe he thinks that the project is now done, while it's not).

Project drift is likely to occur. This is the tendency for everyone to relax, not giving urgency to complete tasks. With uncertainty by crew members as to where the next job will be coming from, dragging the current project on is a likelihood.
