I can't think of any industry/company where project management is not applicable. Any company has to have a project at one point, even the legal industry now is adopting project management, and is treating cases as projects.
You might think that Project Management does not apply to the medical industry, but isn't a doctor's visit a project in and for itself? Isn't an operation a project? Both have a known start date and end date (although both can take more or less time than usual), both are endeavors, both cost money, both exhibit all the "symptoms" of a project. So, both are projects!
There are many other industries that don't look that they need PM, but if you dig deep enough, you'll find that PM is at the heart of every endeavor in every industry.
