Is the PMP certification tax deductible?

I sat for the PMP last week and I successfully passed. I'm now a PMP Project Manager. Since I paid for the costs of the exam and the training from my own pocket, I want to know if the PMP certification fees (along with the associated training and books) tax deductible.

Consult a tax professional in your country. If the PMP was a requirement of your job (e.g. your manager told you you needed to get it to continue your employment) you may be able to write it off in the United States.  LIkewise your PMI dues may be a write off as a membership in a professional society.
