PMP exam failure one time (not three) within eligibility period

Do I need to wait one year to reapply for PMP exam if I took it only once within my eligibility period (not three times as written in PMP handbook) and failed?

No, you can reapply for a reexamination immediately after you fail the test. You wait a year only if you failed the exam 3 times in a row in your 1-year eligibility period.

The PMP handbook has all these questions answered, if it says you have to wait a year after you fail 3 times, then this doesn't apply to you if you fail one time within your 1 year eligibility.
