First please understand that I'm a good project manager, I always deliver projects on time, but I failed that damn pmp exam for the 3rd time in a row, what should I do next? Can I retake it again? I've read somewhere that you're only allowed to fail it 3 times, is this true?

If we fail to accomplish the desired results in any of the challenges’ that we are faced in our lives, the first thing we need to do is to find out the reasons for failure. When we know the possible reasons for not being successful, we can rectify the faults before our next attempt.  Therefore, retaking the exam without first finding the reasons that led to failure and to rectify those may not be such a good idea.

You can retake the test, but you have to wait a year from the date of your last exam. Let's say, for example, that you last took the PMP exam (for the 3rd time) on November 4th, 2010, you will have to wait until November 4th, 2011 to reapply. Reapply is different than take the test, because when you reapply you have to wait the usual wait to get accepted and schedule the exam.

In short, you have to wait around 13 months from the last failed test to TAKE the test again.
