What is an example of a constraint in project management?

I'm not clear on the term constraint in project management. Most books say that there are 3 constraints, scope, time, and resources. Can someone give me a tangible example of what a constraint really is, and how it affects the project?

Constraint is the factor which affects the completion of the project scope in time with quality.  For example, resource attrition, scope creep are the risks factors can also be called as constraints.
