What happens when my PMP certification expires?

My PMP certification will expire next month if I don't renew it. What will happen when it expires (I don't plan on renewing it) - will I lose my status as a PMP? Will I have to re-do the test if I want to become a PMP again? Will my name be removed from the PMP registry? Will I be asked to send PMI my beautiful PMP diploma?

If your PMP certification expires and you do not renew it, here's what will happen:

- You will lose your PMP status
- Your name will be removed from the PMP registry (it won't happen immediately, but it WILL happen)
- You can no longer claim you are a PMP

Note that you won't have to submit back your diploma because the diploma has an expiry date anyway.
