I am planning to do a Project Management Diploma Co-op from a Canadian college, just wanted to know what it takes for a novice to be successful in the role of project manager, especially if I need to be good in Math or not.

While I have a BS in Mathematics, I generally only exercise simple arithmetic in day-to-day project management.  Occasionally for certain software projects where I was responsible for either requirements or design I had to dig back to my past -- maybe 3-4 times in the last 40 years!  So as long as you can handle basic arithmetic (and perhaps follow instruction of others for items like PERT analysis), you should be fine.
