Project stakeholders groups

What are the different groups for project stakeholders? And how are stakeholders grouped? Are they grouped as internal/external, influential/not-influential, strong/weak, primary/non-primary?

Please give me a definitive answer as my search on Google revealed different answers (nobody seems to agree on what are the groups that stakeholders fall into).

There are many ways to group stakeholders:

- You can group them by using the RACI document
- You can group them by using the power/interest grid (see: http://www.projectmanagementquestions.com/1251/an-example-of-a-stakeholder-power-interest-grid )
- You can also group them by their role in the organization (for example: marketing, finance, commercial, etc...)

There are no standard ways for grouping stakeholders, all are correct.
