What to report to the stakeholders?

What are the things that pertain to the project that need to be reported to the stakeholders? Should I report every single thing that happens on the project to the stakeholders? Or should I just inform them of the important/major things?

Thanks for your help!

The most important thing is to listen to the stakeholders and find out what they want reported -- that should help you with the level of detail, which may vary from a high level report on major milestones for the senior executives to a detailed Gantt chart and budget report for the other Project Managers.
