How can I get executive support for my project?

This is always a dilemma for me and I don't seem to get it right. I come to them every once in a while explaining the progress of the project, and then I feel that they're irritated or that they don't have time for me. How can I finish the project if I don't have their solid support?

I can see a couple of potential mistakes:

- Rare interaction with your executives
- Flooding them with unnecessary details

You should engage with your executives regularly (weekly basis is good0, and you should only give them headlines, they have too much work to do and they can't dedicate their whole work day just for you.

Leaving them for a while and then coming to them with your list of problems is a very bad idea. Involving them at a very high level is the best way to handle them, and they'll reward you with their support once they find out that you deserve.

In short:

- Keep them near
- Only give them headlines
