the final step in establishing a project is the fixation of zero date.the zero date of the project signals an effective start of the project. the clock starts clicking from this date this applied not only to time ,cost and technical parameters of the project but also to infrastructual facilities,formation of new company or divison ,governmental clearaness and many other things needed for putting up a project.all these activites which must be completed before the zero date are known as pre-project activities

The zero date of a project signals the effective start of the project. It is an important part of project planning.It is important that all activities such as arranging for finance , regulatory compliance etc needs to be taken care of before this date
