Who is accountable for the project?

In your opinion, who is the person or entity accountable for the project, is it:

- The project manager
- The project sponsor
- The executives
- The stakeholders

I personally think it's the project manager...

The project manager should be the one accountable for the delivery of the project.  For complex projects, I would encourage the creation of a responsibility assignment matrix (RAM) or RACI/RACI-VS diagram which would identify the responsible and accountable individuals for all project work.
