RUP: is it considered as methodology or framework? why ?

Because we have read many resources ,and we found some of them said it considered as framework and other as a methodology..

its a framework as we can customise it by keep the core values i.e. AUP (agile unified process) is inherited from Agile and RUP.

According to Wikipedia, RUP is a framework.
