I was reading a question here and noticed that someone said that he wanted to become a PMI member just to save money on the PMP exam. How much money can he save, is it really worth it?

I've been a member of PMI for 10 years now. I volunteered for the Board of my local chapter and after 5 years, was the Board President.  Since that time, I've been doing volunteer work for the Global Operations Center.  The benefits of local, national, and international networking have been enormous, just as a learning opportunity.  Good things happen when you get involved and stay involved with PMI!

$155. It's worth it to become a member for a year just for that reason alone.

Just for the records, and I'm sure you already know this, you don't have to be a PMP to become a PMI member.
